The need for a particle theory and mole theory. They are deeply intertwined.
Richard Feynman said in Volume One of his Lectures on Physics:
If, in some cataclysm, all of scientific knowledge were to be destroyed, and only one sentence passed on to the next generation of creatures, what statement would contain the most information in the fewest words? I believe it is the atomic hypothesis that all things are made of atoms — little particles that move around in perpetual motion, attracting each other when they are a little distance apart, but repelling upon being squeezed into one another

10/4 – Friday – Weekend Homework (3 parts):
1. Please review Test 1 with powerschool key or with Grodski Review lecture below (IF NEEDED).
You will have the opportunity to take a make-up test of the same format Next week. The make-up test will count towards the test grade as the “Half the distance”.
For example: If you get a 60 on the first test then you could earn a “Half the distance” by completing the makeup test correctly so that you could earn up to an 80 (20 points is half of the 40 points that were not earned in the first test.) Obviously there is a limit to 100 so the better that you do on the first test the less points that can be rewarded in the make-up but it is still offered to everybody. I think this is the most fair way to proceed and still allow for learning to continue.
Grodski Review of Test 1: It is now open!
2. Please watch the Mole concept video and complete the Form below:

Mole Concept Form: (use the lecture and or the google presentation that I have been using in class).
3. Complete the Law of combining volumes worksheet with video posted below.
